Does this tempt you further? Clarkson's SD1, bored out to 5.2 litres, with a Sierra whale spoiler and gold wheels.

Worry not. I've always considered cars like that interesting and want inducing. No idea how common they are in America's hat but they're pretty rare in Canada's underpants.

Yeah I saw one in person that was actually a Rover 3500, not a Sterling. Lost my shit, to my friends entertainment that could only see a vaguely unusual hatcheck thing sitting forlornly in a carport :p They are few and far between

I was always more enamored with the earlier RWD variants that looked essentially the same. There was one I saw while delivering pizzas in college, which was also how I saw my first 8-Series BMW. Hell of a job for a car nerd.

Love those things. Don't say that about Rovers much (or ever)! Saw one a few weeks back that was pristine and remembered just how much I liked them as a kid.

The one you pictured is a RWD SD1, the craigslist Stirling you linked to is a FWD 800-series car, the replacement of the SD1.

I know, I was just picturing the SD1 because the Sterling could be made to look like it in the world where I have a spare 3K for a Rover/Honda product :p

Oh it does, I love that thing
